Dr Alanna Wood (FRANZCO, MBBS, MSc, BPharm, GradDip OphSci) is a fellowship-trained glaucoma sub-specialist and comprehensive ophthalmologist. She recently completed a glaucoma fellowship at Bristol Eye Hospital in the United Kingdom, where she gained extensive experience managing complex and refractory glaucomas. Her core ophthalmology training was undertaken within the Sydney Eye Hospital Network. She holds a medical degree from The University of Sydney and additional postgraduate qualifications in Opthalmic Science (University of Sydney) and Financial Mathematics (University of Queensland).
Alanna is passionate about improving access to eye care in remote and regional communities, having worked in areas such as Darwin, Coffs Harbour, and Lismore during her training.
Dr Wood is known for her patient-centred approach, combining clinical excellence with compassion. She remains actively involved in research and teaching, contributing to advancements in glaucoma care and the education of future ophthalmologists.
