Ophthalmologist

Dr Augustino (Gus) Clark BMedSci (Hons), MBBS (Hons), M Ophth (Distinction), FRANZCO completed his medical degree at the University of Tasmania in 1999, a Master of Ophthalmology with distinction in 2005, and his ophthalmology training in 2009.

Following his general training, Gus undertook two years of subspecialty fellowship in Medical and Surgical Retina in Brisbane and Italy.

Gus provides specialist care in general ophthalmology and retinal disease, including:

– Retinal detachment repair

– Macular hole and epiretinal membrane surgery

– Vitrectomy for vitreous haemorrhage

– Intravitreal therapy for macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease and retinal vein occlusion

– Cataract surgery, including lens exchange and trauma cases

Gus operates in both the public and private sectors—performing surgery at Lismore Base Hospital, St Vincent’s Hospital and Ballina Day Surgery—and is actively involved in registrar training at Lismore Base Hospital.
